Booking rules and policies
Control buffers, lead time, how far ahead clients can book, and when they can change a booking.
Where the rules live
Open Company settings and scroll to Booking rules. These apply to your whole business, not to individual services.
Booking rules
Save booking rulesBuffer between bookings (min)
Cancellation cutoff (hours)
Booking window (days ahead)
Min lead time (hours)
Slot step (min)
What each setting does
- Buffer between bookings — minutes kept free after each appointment so you can reset between clients.
- Cancellation cutoff — hours before the appointment during which a client can still cancel or reschedule from their link. Once inside that window, the buttons are disabled.
- Booking window — how many days ahead the calendar opens. 60 means clients can book up to two months out.
- Min lead time — the shortest notice you accept. 2 means no booking for a slot two hours from now.
- Slot step — the interval between offered start times, e.g. 30 offers 9:00, 9:30, 10:00.
Plan differences
The cancellation cutoff is a Business feature. On Starter and Pro the field is locked and the default of 24 hours applies. Every other rule is available on all plans.
A practical starting point
Buffer 10 minutes, lead time 2 hours, window 60 days, slot step equal to half your shortest service. Tighten the lead time once you know your daily rhythm.
Where clients see it
Your public page only shows times that pass all of these rules, plus working hours, time off, existing bookings and any busy time from a connected Google Calendar.
